Como la flor

Power shoulder leather jacket- Storets / Scarf-via TJ Maxx / Jeans- Zara / Boots- Asos

During Thanksgiving weekend, I accompanied my husband John on a business trip to Corpus Christi, TX. I have only been there one other time (22nd bday celebration thanks to some 0f my best friends), but I had never experienced it with freezing cold temperatures. While he was at his meeting early in the morning, I decided to get myself a latte and go and enjoy the beautiful beach (we had a beachfront view from our hotel!) It was so peaceful and serene. I then remembered that one of my all-time favorite artists has a memorial in made her honor when she died. Who other than Selena?! I remembered I was around 8 or 9 when tragedy struck. I was one of those little girls that had choreographed dances to ALL of her songs-ALL OF HER SONGS :-) I spent a good amount of time there-just reminiscing.

Now, isn't my jacket AH-mazing?! I actually bought it last Fall at Storets.com due to a very inspiring blogger Chiara from TheBlondeSalad.com.She looked so amazing sporting this baby that she totally convinced me. I was also very into the Balmain power shoulder look then. Still am actually :) This jacket totally fits like a glove and I am trying really hard not to wear it with everything I own. I made the mistake of "hiding" it in the back of my closet last year and totally forgot all about it once the cold weather came along. Not making that same mistake this year!

Giving Thanks

 Sequined top-Charlotte Russe/Suede skirt, earrings, & black tights-Forever 21/Wedges-Bandolino

So this was my Thanksgiving Day outfit. It was quite a long, long day that day. The weather was actually bearable that day and my parents in law have such a pretty garden growing in their back yard that I decided to make it my backdrop. These leave were all over the grass while I was taking pictures so I decided to incorporate them into the shoot. I think a real detailed drawing of this kind of leaf would look so pretty as a tattoo. BUT, that's just me. I really dig expression through art. What do you all think?

Studded Bag

Cardigan-Target/Pussybow blouse-Asos/shorts & knee-highs-Forever 21/studded bag- Furor Moda

I don't know how I feel about this whole time change situation. I'm at a crossroads-on one hand, I love the weather the fact that it is no longer 100+ degrees everyday, but it sucks that the sun is setting so early now. I feel like I don't have enough day anymore!

Anyway, I have been wearing my new Alexander Wang inspired bag by Furor Moda nonstop for the past week! I could not get enough of the original Alexander Wang one since I first laid eyes on it a few months back. All I could do was dream at the moment since I knew I couldn't afford it. Then, one day, I was browsing around on Dani's blog (Nanysklozet.blogspot.com) and she was sporting this bag! I immediately went to the website she listed for the bag and did not hesitate to purchase it. $62!!! Wow. Sometimes I have no self-control :-)

Spiked

Black pants-Zara/Bag-The Sak/everything else-Forever 21

This is my new favorite necklace. AND sweater. It started to get really chilly this past weekend and I took FULL advantage of wearing one of my sweaters. Although it is the thinnest one I have, I still kept warm. Of course now, we are now back at 86 degrees F in Austin, but I guess it was good while it lasted...all of 1 day, haha.

John and I went to go watch "Just in Time" with Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfreid on Friday and it was SO GOOD. That movie had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! I highly recommend it! We also had dinner at an Indian restaurant right before that so all I could smell all night was curry. Oh well-it was delicious.

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! :)

Fall Romance

Dinner at Sago's in Austin Friday night. Dog Parks. Red shoes. Mexican food (or "regular" food for my husband and I haha).Micheladas & Mexican Martinis! Yum! I'm so very sleepy right now it's ridiculous. It has definitely been a longgggg week. I already can't wait for the weekend to arrive again. I have gotten myself a few new toys this past week. One of them is this amazing pair of red suede pumps! They're my new favorite shoe and they're pretty comfortable :)

Urban Jungle

Yes, everything is bigger AND BETTER in Texas. We randomly found this box top in this field while we were taking pictures. It was so meant to be.

So I guess by now you can tell how "different" my style can be. I can go from being girly and cutesy one day to grungy the next. I do have to say that I prefer the "grungy" side better. I feel like I'm more in my element. Maybe that's because I went through a punk phase back in high school or that fact that I am seriously infatuated by the ever so dreamy Kurt Cobain. I've gone on one of my tangents now-I apologize.

I hope you all like it! <3

Pussybow

Yes, I thought that was a funny name for a blouse also. Anyway, this is my new favorite blouse from Asos. I know, I know, I've been using this color palate WAYYY too much, but I warned you all, haha! I guess you could say this is my "Fall obsession". I'm so glad I can finally say that the weather here in Austin is "a-changing" and it is now getting a little cooler. It's so great!

Neon Indian at Mohawk's on Friday night! This was so much fun! I was able to catch up with my frennn Tina and enjoy good music. I have been longing to wear my new Asos Chelsea leather boots but have been afraid of ruining them due to my horrifying clumsiness. I probably chose the worse place and situation to wear them for the first time, but oh well, I love them! I've noticed that I have seriously gone to A LOT of shows since I moved to Austin (only a little over a year). What do you expect from a music-loving gal?!
