Power shoulder leather jacket- Storets / Scarf-via TJ Maxx / Jeans- Zara / Boots- Asos

During Thanksgiving weekend, I accompanied my husband John on a business trip to Corpus Christi, TX. I have only been there one other time (22nd bday celebration thanks to some 0f my best friends), but I had never experienced it with freezing cold temperatures. While he was at his meeting early in the morning, I decided to get myself a latte and go and enjoy the beautiful beach (we had a beachfront view from our hotel!) It was so peaceful and serene. I then remembered that one of my all-time favorite artists has a memorial in made her honor when she died. Who other than Selena?! I remembered I was around 8 or 9 when tragedy struck. I was one of those little girls that had choreographed dances to ALL of her songs-ALL OF HER SONGS :-) I spent a good amount of time there-just reminiscing.

Now, isn't my jacket AH-mazing?! I actually bought it last Fall at Storets.com due to a very inspiring blogger Chiara from TheBlondeSalad.com.She looked so amazing sporting this baby that she totally convinced me. I was also very into the Balmain power shoulder look then. Still am actually :) This jacket totally fits like a glove and I am trying really hard not to wear it with everything I own. I made the mistake of "hiding" it in the back of my closet last year and totally forgot all about it once the cold weather came along. Not making that same mistake this year!

So this was my Thanksgiving Day outfit. It was quite a long, long day that day. The weather was actually bearable that day and my parents in law have such a pretty garden growing in their back yard that I decided to make it my backdrop. These leave were all over the grass while I was taking pictures so I decided to incorporate them into the shoot. I think a real detailed drawing of this kind of leaf would look so pretty as a tattoo. BUT, that's just me. I really dig expression through art. What do you all think?

So I know this is a CRAP overload of pictures and I have no idea why I'm posting them about a month later. It was a great 24th birthday! We ate at many different restaurants, went to Molly Mae's Pub ob Burbank St., went to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and toured through the greater part of West Hollywood including the Griffith Observatory. Yes, we did A LOT; and that was not all. I'll let the picture tell the story though.

This past weekend was activity-filled indeed. John and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary by attending the A Perfect Circle concert in San Antonio, TX. They were AMAZING! They are one of those bands that we both are completely obsessed with. I am so glad we were able to experience it together. They did not allow cameras at the venue so we were not able to properly capture the show with the exception of that first picture of me taken with John's camera phone.

We then drove back from San Antonio to Austin on Saturday and decided to have a "proper" date for our anniversary. That included watching "Friends with Benefits" (HILARIOUS by the way), and having some frozen yogurt, followed by being silly by running around in the water fountain like little kids. We were exhausted from all of the excitement the night before to do anything else after that.

Hope your weekend was great too! :)

Tripz

Our day trip to Houston, TX was a blasty blast. We drove by downtown (and I say "drove"since it would NOT stop raining and I did not feel like walking in the rain), went to the Galleria to do A LOT of window shopping, and had a very fun night with friends. We checked out the University Bar at Rice University and had 95 cent beers all night. I am SO exhausted from all of the driving and walking, but I am so ready for a fun day at the lake tomorrow. Till then, I'm outie!
