Sugar Sugar

So, holy cray-I've been out for a while! John and I took these pictures this past weekend while we were down in South Congress having lunch. I love that part of Austin, I can always find a new backdrop for pictures. I have cut my hair short and have decided to get another tattoo. I'm not 100% on what I want yet, but I have a few ideas in mind.

Also, I have joined Instagram. It is definitely addictive. I'm @sandracdavila if anyone wants to add!

See ya!

I'll leave you with a song:

Bowtie

So it finally got cold like I wanted it to, and then I got sick. Ugh. Just my luck. Well I'm finally getting over that so that's ONE of the reasons I've been MIA lately. The other? Well, I don't have another, haha. Anyway, I still feel a little tired so excuse the short post. I bought this sweater while it was still hot here in Texas. I was finally able to wear it this past weekend to lunch with my husband. I bought it from this store called Garage. The salesgirl actually informed me that this is a Canadian brand and the only other store in Texas was in Houston. They had such cute stuff, but I did have to restrain myself from doing some serious damage.

Gypsy Picnic

So John and I went to the Gypsy Picnic this past Saturday at Auditorium Shores. The Gypsy Picnic is when all of the food carts around town come together in one large space and people are able to sample everyone's food. With it being Austin and all, there were some "wierd" names for these carts and also some questionable food. I have always been one to try something new and exciting so I did-including a vegan chocolate covered frozen banana from a place called "Bananarchy". It was freaking delicious! There was also live music and of course "street performers".

I have also always loved the view from this part of the city. It's breathtaking. Just look at it!

My favorite street performers

Pumpkin and the Patch

 Sweater, bag & shoes-Forever 21/Shorts-Urban Outfitters

Wouldn't that be a great name for a children's book?! :) One of my favorite things for the Fall season are pumpkin patches. I would love to take a sleeping bag and place it right in the middle of millions of pumpkins and fall asleep under the stars. I'm weird, I know :) This one was a smaller one right outside of a Whole Foods Market right by our apt. The only thing that would have made it 100% better was if the weather was at least a good 60 degrees F instead of 101 degrees F.

'Cause I'm cool like that

1. Lunch at Home Slice Pizzeria on South Congress Ave.
2. Pizza man from Home Slice
3. Belgian chocolate with sprinkles on a homemade waffle cone from Amy's Ice Cream
4. About 1/30 of "Lucy in Disguise" costumes (for rent/buy) (First seen here)
5. View of Downtown Austin from the South Congress bridge

Some days I just feel like being such a tourist and hitting all of the Austin "staples". I guess these places can be considered both "local" and "touristy". I can never get enough of it. We also ended up hitting "Highball" later that night for some drinks and dancing. Now that place is fun: confetti, glow sticks, foam falling from the sky and GREAT remixed music. Very chill Saturday night :-)

Whaling around

I am so grateful that I am finally feeling better after a horrible, horrible week of trying to get over a sinus infection. John and I went to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in Austin on Friday: Moonshine. That place is delicious and it never gets old. We were supposed to watch "The Help" and it's now been sold out the past 3 times we have tried to go. I guess I'll give it another week and try again :)

I love weekends. Sleep and Yoga. That's all I want.

Tripz

Our day trip to Houston, TX was a blasty blast. We drove by downtown (and I say "drove"since it would NOT stop raining and I did not feel like walking in the rain), went to the Galleria to do A LOT of window shopping, and had a very fun night with friends. We checked out the University Bar at Rice University and had 95 cent beers all night. I am SO exhausted from all of the driving and walking, but I am so ready for a fun day at the lake tomorrow. Till then, I'm outie!
