'Cause I'm cool like that

1. Lunch at Home Slice Pizzeria on South Congress Ave.
2. Pizza man from Home Slice
3. Belgian chocolate with sprinkles on a homemade waffle cone from Amy's Ice Cream
4. About 1/30 of "Lucy in Disguise" costumes (for rent/buy) (First seen here)
5. View of Downtown Austin from the South Congress bridge

Some days I just feel like being such a tourist and hitting all of the Austin "staples". I guess these places can be considered both "local" and "touristy". I can never get enough of it. We also ended up hitting "Highball" later that night for some drinks and dancing. Now that place is fun: confetti, glow sticks, foam falling from the sky and GREAT remixed music. Very chill Saturday night :-)

So yeah, kind of a picture overload. I just felt like there were so many good ones! So, sue me. Anyway, I thought it was funny how my shadow in the pictures in so deceiving. The sun was just at the right angle for that to happen that way. I went to dinner with John at Mandola's, this very delicious Italian restaurant in Austin. One of my favorites. This skirt, for me, has become a staple. It is just so versatile. I can't wait for Winter so I can wear it with some Doc Martens...you'll see.

I love the color combination of this outfit. I had never realized that I am a sucker for nudes and pink tones. I see a lot of this color usage in my future. The backdrop for this outfit made it that much better. I was a little sad that the water in the pond was so low, but I guess that's what you get in a Texas drought. Really wishing for that rain now.

I am so grateful that I am finally feeling better after a horrible, horrible week of trying to get over a sinus infection. John and I went to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in Austin on Friday: Moonshine. That place is delicious and it never gets old. We were supposed to watch "The Help" and it's now been sold out the past 3 times we have tried to go. I guess I'll give it another week and try again :)

I love weekends. Sleep and Yoga. That's all I want.

They said it changes when the sun goes down

  Top & shorts-Forever 21/boots-Jeffery Campbell

...a quote from one of my favorite Arctic Monkey's song: Scummy Man. They were AMAZING at Stubb's this past Tuesday. I was exhausted after standing for about 4 hours straight and had to be at work at 8am the next day, but it was totally worth it.

This was the outfit I had planned to wear. I figured I'd at least be a little taller with my boots and I would actually be able to see something not through shoulders and heads. Once I thought about it, I immediately changed my mind and decided to not completely destroy my brand new pair of Jeffrey Campbell's with mud, beer and other people's groggy feet. I changed into my flats. I still got a good spot :)

About a Girl

Late (& short) Sunday post. This is me on a Sunday. I get sooooo lazy it's almost tragic. I'll throw on a good t-shirt, some baggy shorts and pull my hair back. John and I usually go watch a movie, do some grocery shopping or just go enjoy ourselves at one of the hundreds of parks in Austin. We recently, "accidentally" found a Mexican bakery that sells all sorts of fresh "pan dulce" (which translates into sweet bread). It reminds me of Sundays back home at my dad's house in Mexico. We used to buy loads of it and practically eat it all in one day. I'm trying really hard to not do that anymore...John-well, not so much, ha ha.
